Learn about strategic goals and best practices for improving the eRulemaking Federal Docket Management System (FDMS) and the Regulations.gov website. These systems allow agencies and the public to review regulatory content and to participate in the regulatory process.

Organizing regulatory actions using commonly referenced sector categories can improve the user’s browsing capabilities. From the homepage, users could select their sector of interest (e.g., Defense, Energy, Environment, Finance, Health Care) to find rulemaking actions.

Geographic Information System (GIS) functionality provides users a tool to geographically examine rulemakings based on county, state, and regional levels. Leveraging GIS functionality on our site will enable users to map a specific geographical area and locate and submit comments on the related federal rulemaking actions.
